My dad sent me a link to a NZ Herald article: Writers still in the garret 'struggling on $15,383'.

It reinforces that the average that NZ writers get paid are on line with what I've read US and UK writers get paid. It was interesting that the writers they mention as being so influential to NZ writing will get paid more than the average. Lloyd Jones has certainly made more than $15,000 with Mister Pip!

I've never strived to be the average or make excuses because of the reality we live in.
