That's right. I finally got two days in a row and again it was pure joy to write. I rewrote the second scene for Family Trust and it's interesting how small changes can give such a hugely different impression. I got a little bit of feedback from Cassie on the first scene and it's validated that I'm heading in the right direction.

Again I started with a brand new document. There's something about a fresh white page that embodies possibility. With that blank slate I feel like I can turn each scene into just what I want it to be. I have the beta version printed out and follow it along so I know what needs to happen. I retype the whole scene, sometimes I type straight from the printed version but retyping each and every word makes me pay attention to the whole scene and helps me keep the flow of the story.

There's something else that I'm doing differently and I'm not sure how long it'll last. I haven't planned out the revision. I don't know how long it will take me. It's almost a NaNo approach to revision. It's working so far and I think I'll try to hold onto that spirit for as long as possible.
